Legionnares' Disease update

The HSE’s website provides valuable information about Health & Safety at Work, including a new Legionnaire’s Disease homepage. Of particular interest is the report on the outbreak at Barrow In Furness in 2002, in which 7 people died and 180 people suffered ill effects.

It is likley that we will see an increase in vigilance by the HSEAs inspectorate as a result of the report, and possibly the council based EHOs, looking for compliance with the HSE’s ACOP L8. Above all you will want to avoid such an incident in your premises which could have a huge impact on your business and the local economy.
