Newquay 10% Day

Newquay Chamber of Commerce & Tourism are organising Newquay 10% Day, a project to attract Christmas Shoppers to Newquay with Free Parking and a selection of shops offering a 10% discount.

We have chosen the 16th December for the event to coincide with Santa’s Sleigh being in the town, and the event will be publicised by every means available to us — we are expecting to attract large numbers of Christmas shoppers on that day. A similar event was organised by the Chamber of Commerce a number of years ago and was a huge success.

If you are a shop-keeper in Newquay and are prepared to offer a 10% discount to Christmas shoppers (or similar incentive), in exchange for some good publicity (a list of shops will be published on the website, and in all publicity materials), please contact us and let us know.

In order to attract as many Christmas Shoppers to Newquay as possible, we are keen to involve as many shops as possible, both NCCT members, and non-members, so if you know of anybody that has a shop, please do have a word with them yourself or, alternatively, let us know who they are and we’ll pay them a visit. A number of Executive members will be taking to the streets, visiting retail outlets in the town in the hope of persuading them to take part.

Please support us in this and, if it is a success this year, hopefully it will become an annual event (if all goes well, we hope to ressurect the Christmas Window competition next year).
